Acid Resistant Flooring Protect Your Space And Save Money
Acid resistant flooring is a general term for a resinous flooring system. Our epoxy floor design is based on our consultation to determine your concentration and severity of the corrosive nature of your bad actor. We then make that determination and confirm with our material providers to specify the right resins. Ultimately, we receive their recommendation, ensuring we provide the best possible epoxy floor system.
What is acid-resistant flooring? Acid-resistant flooring is a resinous flooring system designed for environments exposed to corrosive substances such as acids, sulfuric acid, alkalis, or contaminated liquids. It involves a detailed consultation to determine chemical exposures, followed by specification of the correct resin system, such as novolac, vinyl ester, or other high‐performance chemistry.
Please do not hesitate to obtain our assessment, as this is critical to implementing a long-term solution and mitigating any concerns about erosion or contamination.

Where is acid-resistant flooring commonly used?
Common applications include battery charging rooms at warehouse facilities, manufacturing and production areas with corrosive processes, mechanical rooms, and other areas where heavy chemical exposures occur.
The most common area we use novolac resins is in battery charging areas for warehouse facilities, as the sulphuric acid eats away at bare concrete.
Another common use is in manufacturing and production facilities where corrosive materials are utilized in their processes. This is where an evaluation is so important, as we need to determine the nature of the bad actor and specify a material that will defend against any erosion.
Why is proper material specification so important?
Because the level and type of chemical exposure (for example, concentration, temperature, exposure time) vary widely, the choice of resin chemistry must match those exposures. If the wrong system is used, you risk erosion, contamination, floor delamination, or accelerated maintenance costs.
How long can acid-resistant flooring last?
When properly specified and installed (including proper surface preparation, resin system, and curing), acid-resistant floors can provide many years of protection and reduced maintenance costs. Durable resinous systems for chemical environments are engineered to last 10‑20 years or more, depending on exposure.
Corrosion Resistant Flooring That Exceeds Your Needs
As an epoxy flooring company that has been providing resinous floor services for over 35 years, we can boast of many experiences that have provided us with insights to solve your chemical attacks. Our corrosion-resistant flooring is not limited to epoxies, as we also provide virtually any of the available solutions available to the market today. It is not at all uncommon that we apply corrosion resistant flooring in mechanical rooms, depending upon their processes once again.
What maintenance is required for corrosion‑resistant flooring systems?
Regular and proper maintenance includes prompt cleanup of chemical spills, use of compatible cleaning agents (e.g., non‑abrasive, pH‑neutral where appropriate), periodic inspection for wear or damage, and adherence to recommended procedures. These practices help extend the life of the floor and protect against chemical attack.
We do many battery charging stations using our novolac chemistry. While using vinyl ester resins for the extreme exposures, and the list goes on. As previously mentioned, we work closely with some of the largest manufacturers to provide you with the best possible long-term solution available. Give us a call today, let’s work together to solve your headache areas.
